Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center on the Columbus State University campus.

Emergency Preparedness-Are You Ready?
Are you ready for the next emergency situation? Does your business have
an information technology disaster recovery plan? Your home or business
must have a written emergency plan and an emergency kit to ensure the
safety of your family and employees. Instructor, Mark Lupo, will
teach you how to better handle fire, loss of power for an extended
period, wind damage, flooding, or a terrorist act and how to develop an
emergency plan for your home and business.

Navigating the Quagmire: Human Resource Issues for Small Businesses
Size does not insulate a small business from the human resource issues
that national companies face on a daily basis. Elizabeth Cook and
Joyce Fowler will lead this one-day session for small office
managers focusing on three phases of employment: building your team the
right way (recruiting and hiring), working in harmony (period of
employment), and time to say goodbye (termination of employment). The
session will include an introduction to employment laws, a discussion of
communication styles, and community resources for help with specific
issues. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
